This past September, after returning back home to LA from New York, I had the pleasure of working on a short film during this pandemic. "Play Me Something," is a short about a webcam date that we actually filmed via webcam. It was a completely new experience having to act and connect with someone through a computer for a scene - but, really we had been doing it in real life since the pandemic started in March so it wasn't too much of a stretch. I shot in a studio in Downtown LA with a small crew of two (masked, of course) and worked with my scene partner through a laptop screen while he was quarantined in his own apartment. It was a unique and fun experience that I am just thankful to have been a part of during this weird time.
This short is about love, loss, and the impact connecting with someone can have even if it was only for a brief period.
